So today is the end of the 2nd week on Atkins. I was very good and kept the scale hidden the whole week. Here is the good news!
Start Weight: 200.0
Week 1 Weight: 192 (lost 8 pounds)
Week 2 Weight: 188.8 (lost 3.2 pounds)
Total Weight loss = 11.2 pounds.
I was so excited this morning when I read that! I haven't broken the 190's ever in my weight loss. The last time I was in the 180's was when I first moved to Waterloo in 2005-2006.
One thing about last week though. I didn't keep as good tabs on myself as I should have. This is the week where I'm supposed to move up to the next level, but I'm going to stay here for at least one more week to really nail down the basics.
1) I didn't write down my days food or carb count
2) I more or less estimated in my head what my carbs were (can't be accurate!)
3) I didn't get all my water in everyday
The reason I slacked is because when I see something working my brain says, "oh yah, you know what you're doing...you've got this!" So I need to tell that part to shut up and realize that one week doesn't fix years of problems.

Great job! It is terribly easy to suffer "carb creep" when you start estimating carb counts in your head. I've also been very lazy about recording everything I've been eating the last couple of weeks.
ReplyDeleteHoly CRAP MAN I just weighed myself.... then I was sure the scale was broken, so I weighed a box of kitty litter. It's off by only 2 ;bs :\
ReplyDeleteIt's absolutely horrifying. I'll be joining you after I move and after thanksgiving. SERIOUSLY.
Btw if you like keeping track of carbs and stuff, you should check out fitday.com
It lets you plug in all your foods, and it keeps track of carbs but also calories and stuff too, so if you stop losing you can see if you need to eat less (or MORE!) calories to keep losing.... it's annoying when you have to plug in brand-name foods (you enter everything) but it saves it for you. I found it very helpful. And it's free...I'm gonna sign up too. (plus it makes a graph of your weight loss which is always fun!)
EEEEEk....that's a scary moment eh? Don't worry about it. I will get on your ass and we'll do this together! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not great with FitDay...I findit way too hard. lol. But if i start to stall I will go back to it.
I have an idea! Why don't you go jogging in the ravine? You'll have to run fast to stay away from the murderers.
Bahahahahahaha.
ReplyDeleteI'll have to remember to wear earphones and be extra distracted for the optimal workout.
I think the building has a pool, but it might be outdoor where people could see me. Either way, I love swimming and would do it in the summer, and the TTC scares me and is complicated so I'll be walking around a lot, and going for regular walks in the park... I know Matt would come with me too. I wouldn't go alone... but exercising properly makes everything go so much better!
I know....but I haven't exercised at all lately. I'm tooooo lazy lol. I want to start swimming but I have to take the bus...boo. ;p
