Alright, here we go.
I weighed myself this morning and it was a spooky 200.0. I had to check a few times because the number seemed like too perfect a starting weight...like I made it up. LOL.
My highest weight ever was 216. That was around fall of 2007. I started working out and going to weight watchers and since then I've hovered between 192-200. I'm sure the awesome pizza last night did not help at all. But it was SOOOOOOOOO good.
This morning I had eggs and bacon for breakfast. 0 carbs! (*EDIT* eggs are 0.6 carbs each) One thing that interested me about atkins is that you're only supposed to have 20 net carbs a day for the first two weeks and 15 of them are supposed to be from vegetables. Since vegetables don't have a ton of carbs I think it's going to be hard to get up there. At least getting my veggies in will deter me from eating bacon wrapped cheese for dinner every night.
OK! I'll be weighing in every Wednesday morning. I'm going to try and not step on the scale in between or else I'll get down on myself.
<3 Steph.

I believe in you Steph! You can dooooo it! :)
ReplyDeleteI am super proud. Uber proud. I am not the biggest fan of Atkin's just because I know that carbs are important. *Some* carbs. It has been my experience that portions are a big deal. After I had Mac, I had some weight to lose. I tried the Atkin's thing and I had a permanent headache, so I had to change my plan. I had read about portions somewhere, so I tried that. I ate everything I normally would, but only half of what I would normally eat. I did some work on the stationary bike, but nothing too drastic. I lost 20 pounds. (I also started drinking lots of water back then and have kept that up) And you know that I lost weight when I went gluten free last year, right? Well, I started eating gluten again, just because it is so expensive and decided to do portion control again. I have lost 14 pounds. I strongly believe in the portion thing. I bought myself cute *little* dishes at the dollar store that I use and fill them up. For instance, when we have ice cream after supper for dessert, I use my adorable little dish that I love and it holds about 2 or 3 tbsp of ice cream, depending on how high I stack it. That's enough for me. And I make it an *experience* with the cute dishes. Of course, I don't cut portions of veggies or water. And I have cut out pop completely. Once in awhile I drink diet pop. So there, that's my story and that's what I think. I love you, Stephie. You are going to do great. I just know it.
ReplyDeleteHahah, I like that you kept it tame. I thought you were going to go on a hate rant! :) You had me ready!
ReplyDeleteI would love to do the portion control thing. The problem for me is that I have NO will power. If I taste it, I want more. I feel that to kick start this journey and feel like I'm making a real difference I need to be cutting out all the things that I'm weak for.
I like that as time goes by on Atkins you start to add carbs back. I'm never going to be able to eat a huge bowl of pasta or potatoe salad...but I'm ok with that. You really can't eat like that on Weight Watchers either.
Of course I'm going to cheat and eat badly on trips or on holidays. I don't think it's right to NOT celebrate on occasion. But I can start back on the two week induction (the most strict part of Atkins) to help undo the damage. Then back up to my normal routine.
Are gluten free products more low carb? Dad and I were discussing that this afternoon. I know that they say Atkins or Weight Watchers is a life style, but I do plan to live the life I want to when I feel that I've learned how to control it.
Love you too Auntie Paula! <3
THANK YOU VAL!! Don't want you to think that I ignored your support!! <3
